Need
Within the framework of European judicial cooperation, technological fragmentation made cross-border proceedings complex, requiring adjustments and integrations to connect heterogeneous systems and ensure the authenticity, integrity and traceability of digital documents.
It was therefore necessary to improve the efficiency of judicial cooperation through a tool capable of enabling fast, secure and reliable exchange of information, legal documents and decisions among authorities using different national systems and procedures.
Solution
In 2012, with the support of Net Service, the first European exchange of judicial data between Italy and Austria was achieved as part of the development of e-CODEX, the European e-Justice infrastructure that enables national judicial systems to communicate securely and interoperably in order to exchange information, legal documents and decisions through shared standards, while preserving their existing applications and procedures.
