GAIA uses artificial intelligence to support environmental disaster prevention.

Climate change and the increasing frequency of extreme environmental events make it increasingly necessary to have technological tools capable of supporting environmental risk monitoring, analysis and prevention activities.

The GAIA project aims to develop advanced artificial intelligence solutions to support operators involved in managing and preventing environmental disasters, exploring the use of multi-grounded neuro-symbolic approaches capable of combining machine learning techniques with structured knowledge models.

Artificial intelligence for decision support

The solutions developed make it possible to analyse large amounts of environmental data and provide useful information for decision-making processes, helping operators identify risk situations and evaluate possible evolving scenarios.

Technologies and application areas

Neuro-symbolic artificial intelligenceCombines machine learning and symbolic reasoning for "grounded" AI, anchored to real operational context.

Decision support for environmental protection
Provides operators with timely information to facilitate rapid, effective interventions.
