AstroTool accelerates astrophysical data analysis through High Performance Computing.

The growing availability of data from advanced scientific instruments, such as the new generation of radio telescopes, requires increasingly powerful computing infrastructures to analyse and visualise large volumes of scientific information.

The AstroTool project was created to address this challenge, developing pre-processing and pre-rendering solutions for astrophysical data on High Performance Computing (HPC) infrastructures.

HPC for processing scientific big data

AstroTool makes it possible to shift particularly intensive computational activities onto high-performance computing platforms, significantly improving the performance of data analysis and visualisation processes. The project uses VisIVO as the working framework for managing and processing large-scale scientific data, accelerating the analysis of complex datasets.

Technologies and application areas
