DESCRIPTION
Integration of HPC and quantum computers to solve integer quadratic optimisation problems using Quantum Annealing techniques combined with classical algorithms to simplify the optimisation problem. The project also studies software engineering methodologies to support the development of hybrid solutions based on quantum and classical computers.

QUBO HPC integrates quantum computing and supercomputing to tackle complex optimisation problems.

Many scientific and industrial problems require solving extremely complex mathematical optimisation models, characterised by a large number of variables and constraints. In these contexts, traditional computing techniques can face significant limits in terms of processing time and the ability to explore all possible solutions.

The QUBO HPC project was created to explore new ways of solving these problems through the integration of High Performance Computing (HPC) and Quantum Computing, studying the use of Quantum Annealing techniques to tackle integer quadratic optimisation problems (QUBO).

Integration of classical and quantum computing systems

The approach developed involves creating hybrid computing workflows, in which classical algorithms are used to simplify and prepare the problem to be solved, while quantum computing systems are used to tackle the most complex optimisation phases, opening new prospects for fields such as logistics, resource planning and network management.
