Needs

SOGEI (Società Generale d'Informatica S.p.A.) is an in-house company of the Italian Ministry of Economy and Finance, supporting the digital transformation of Public Administration through information systems and technological services for fiscal, administrative, and regulatory processes.

The management of procedures related to the registration and updating of regulated products, such as tobacco, was characterized by fragmented workflows and non-uniform operating methods, resulting in inefficiencies and delays.

Solution

We contributed to the evolution of a digital platform for the online submission and management of applications related to regulated products, introducing a unified digital model to simplify interaction with economic operators, standardize information collection, and support the entire application lifecycle, from submission through to the communication of the final outcome.

Authorized economic operators can submit different types of applications — including new product registration, tariff classification, and distributor management — create drafts, upload documentation, apply digital signatures, and monitor the status of their cases. Public Administration staff benefit from role-based interfaces to review, validate, and process applications within a secure and integrated digital environment.
