Net Service joins ECHO-TWIN, the national project on Digital Twins, distributed AI and Cyber Security

Net Service is participating in ECHO-TWIN – Edge-Cloud-HPC Optimized Twins based on Workflow-enhanced Inference Networks, an initiative funded by the Italian Ministry of University and Research (MUR) to strengthen strategic research supply chains and foster digital and industrial innovation skills.
The 18-month project builds upon the activities developed within the ICSC National Research Center for High Performance Computing, Big Data and Quantum Computing , funded through the Italian PNRR program, and brings together universities, research institutions and companies in a national ecosystem focused on Digital Twins, Artificial Intelligence, Edge Computing and HPC technologies.

Project partners include leading research and innovation organizations such as INAF, INFN, CNR, the University of Naples Federico II, Polytechnic University of Bari, University of Calabria, University of Salento, University of Catania,University of Bari, University of Bologna, University of Turin and Fondazione Bruno Kessler, alongside Net Service.

The project kickoff meeting will take place in Naples from May 5 to May 7, 2026, with participation from the Net Service team including Enrico Folegani and Marco Di Francesco.

Within ECHO-TWIN, Net Service will contribute to the development of advanced solutions and infrastructures in several strategic domains: Federated Learning and Edge AI, Edge–Cloud–HPC integration, blockchain certification and federated Data Spaces
AI prediction models for landslides and floods, Cyber Security Labs for EDGE Computing and Digital Twin infrastructures.
Net Service Group will act as an industrial partner and technology enabler, providing expertise in cybersecurity, blockchain, distributed AI and Digital Twin technologies, supporting the validation and transfer of research results into real-world applications for environmental monitoring, mobility and smart infrastructures.

The project activities also include the design of federated infrastructures for distributed AI processing, blockchain-based notarisation systems for critical data and events, Edge-HPC synchronization pipelines and experimental cyber-security laboratories for Digital Twin ecosystems.
Through ECHO-TWIN, Net Service further strengthens its commitment to industrial research and the development of intelligent, resilient and sustainable digital ecosystems, contributing to the growth of national technological infrastructures and the transfer of innovation to enterprises and Public Administrations.
