GT50, part of Net Service Group, supported the Italian Red Cross in a major digital transformation project, making it the first organization in Italy to introduce a fully paperless system for issuing service driving licenses and vehicle registration documents.
The adopted solution is based on Lambda Digital Seal, a cloud platform developed by GT50 that ensures the legal validity of printed versions of natively digital documents. At the core of the system is the Lambda Seal, an intelligent QR code embedded in the digitally signed document, allowing real-time access to the original version stored in a secure, encrypted repository—fully compliant with GDPR.
For the Italian Red Cross, this new system has completely replaced the paper format for service driving licenses and registration documents, cutting operational costs and ensuring immediate availability of documents to Italian Red Cross operators. Each volunteer can now independently print their digital license on plain paper, with a QR code that is fully readable and verifiable online through a dedicated microservice integrated into the platform.
The transition was officially acknowledged by the Italian Ministry of the Interior – Department of Public Security, which issued a circular to Prefectures and Law Enforcement agencies confirming the legal validity of the new format nationwide.
The project, which began in March 2025 with a pilot phase, reached a key milestone on June 18, when the Italian Red Cross officially announced the launch of digital license issuance. Integration of registration documents will be completed by July 2025.
Already adopted by several major public and private organizations, the Lambda Digital Seal platform is listed in the ACN (National Cybersecurity Agency) catalog for digital infrastructure and cloud services. With this project, GT50 reaffirms its role in enabling secure and compliant document digitalization, even in highly complex operational sectors such as emergency services and mobility.
